brother dr400 compatible July 7, 2010 howdy works just right at a fraction of the cost of the brother name brand drum
YOU yourself need to reset the drum life counter on your printer. April 26, 2010 NY Lawyer For those who love this product but worry about the "replace drum" message, you need to look in your Brother manual. On my MFC-8500, the drum-replacement counter is reset by me manually when I change the drum; the manual instructs me to open the front cover and then press CLEAR. I then press 1 to reset the counter. (Of course, the toner low light measures the toner in the cartridge, to some extent, which may be why you expect the same from the drum life thingy, but in fact the drum life counter is purely numerical and gets reset by you. Pull up your manual at the manufacturer's web site and see how to do it on your own printer!) PS I have been using this drum in my MFC-8500 for months now, and it works like a champ! Absolutely no difference compared to the Genuine Brother drum that I had previously used, and I have been watching carefully for any sign that $30 doesn't buy the same quality printing that $120 does. Shocking but true -- it works just as well.
better then good April 16, 2010 Butch Cassidy So far working nice...only the saying...change drum soon stays on and remaining drum life stays at 0...other then that it's a o.k...you get what you pay for...that works for me and if it lasts or it works well, I'll buy another again...I was ready to buy the original but I was told why not save! My unit is almost 10 years only.
Good deal February 7, 2010 W. Peters (RTP, NC USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This compatible drum works great, no problem, much cheaper than Brother.
However, not being OEM, it does not reset the Drum light on the printer.
"CHANGE DRUM Message" for Brother DR400 Compatible Drum Cartridge February 2, 2010 NotaMacGenius (New York, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This less expensive Brother compatible drive seems to be working fine, but I keep getting a message on my Brother printer that I must "CHANGE THE DRUM" -- and I keep wondering if something else might be wrong. Meanwhile, however, my printer continues to print.
